The Prada fashion show for spring/summer 2012 played with the theme of women and cars in the fifties. ‘Sweetness’ was Miuccia Prada’s description of the new summer clothing trends. It was a return to the innocence of a time when clothes were more about pretty than about revealing every bit of thigh and cleavage. Oversized boyfriend letterman jackets (waist and knee length) came out in floral prints with solid coloured sleeves and cuffs. Green, yellow and blue were used for daytime styles and a mix of gold, black and crimson reminiscent of Imperial China glammed up for the evening.
