Lardini: A Story Made in Italy

The Italian suit masters show us what goes into making their suits

(CROSS POSTED ON LUXOS.COM)

Lardini: A Story Made in Italy
Le Marche is one of Italy's most remarkably beautiful regions, known for its rolling hills, seaside and exceptional cuisine. It's a well known fact that the best shoes are made here, but it was thanks to an autumn excursion that we discovered that some of Italy's finest suits are also manufactured here.

The mark of a Lardini suit can be recognized by the quality of the cut and materials along with the charming little flower crafted in wool that is worn accessorized in the button hole of a collar...CONTINUE READING

(CROSS POSTED ON LUXOS.COM)

F stands for Flawless Fendi Fall Fashion. The Creative Design team of Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi has brought us a collection that's trendy and functional, with just the right colour combinations. The line's theme was all about collage inspired by the work of German Dada artist, Kurt Schwitters. What Fendi has done is taken the concept of collage and implemented it into the collection's fabrics creating 1970s fashion shapes and styles in the iconic colours of the period. The colours are rich and wonderfully complement the designs. Keep Reading

Agnona Spring / Summer 2012

Cashmere in summer? Oh yes we can! One of our favourite Italian women’s brands, Agnona has plenty of cashmere propositions for next season, all crafted in a lighter blend for an easy and elegant wear.

This afternoon the fashion elite flocked to Milan's Via Bigli for a private presentation of Agnona's new collection. Stepping in we saw two large staircase facing one another from across the showroom with models posing on the various platform levels. On one side we had the label's classic Brown Collection  with pieces inspired by the brand's archive and on the other, a lighter, more modern collection of casual and chic wear that belongs to their White Collection...Continue Reading

Prada Spring / Summer 2012

Top looks from Miuccia Prada’s latest collection

Prada Spring / Summer 2012

The Prada fashion show for spring/summer 2012 played with the theme of women and cars in the fifties. ‘Sweetness’ was Miuccia Prada’s description of the new summer clothing trends. It was a return to the innocence of a time when clothes were more about pretty than about revealing every bit of thigh and cleavage. Oversized boyfriend letterman jackets (waist and knee length) came out in floral prints with solid coloured sleeves and cuffs. Green, yellow and blue were used for daytime styles and a mix of gold, black and crimson reminiscent of Imperial China glammed up for the evening. Studded satin jackets were Prada’s feminine take on the T-Birds, while perforated lightweight evening coats... KEEP READING

Founder, Creative Director and all around visionary Mellon continues to bestow unique names on the new members of the shoe and accessory dynasty, thus endowing them with their own individual personas. Jil Sander Spring / Summer 2012

Minimalism and fashion reduction have always been at the heart of the Jil Sander brand DNA. Sander herself was referred to as the ‘Queen of Less.’ This season we saw clean cuts and minimalist trends in the form of futuristic milk maids and fashion forward Kansas farm girls. Creative Director Raf Simons says this collection is the last installment of his ‘couture’ trilogy which explored the practices and styles of traditional woman’s couture. KEEP READING

Blumarine Spring / Summer 2012

Blumarine clothing trends for next spring and summer

Blumarine Spring / Summer 2012

There was a lot of tanned midriff, sensuous shoulders and colour explosions at the Blumarine spring/summer 2012 women's fashion show in Milan. Anna Molinari takes us on a journey to a techno-coloured Brazil, celebrating exoticism next season. By day, the Blumarine woman chooses a ladylike A-line dress that fits her demurely at the bodice and flares out into a stunning flower bomb palette. Off-the-shoulder tops matched with billowy knee-length skirts are also a favourite combination for those warm sunny days. Molinari cleverly breaks the monotony of bright colours with crisp white pleats in between, matched beautifully with fun tote bags and high heels with cropped, bouncy fringe. Keep Reading

Giorgio Armani Spring / Summer 2011-12

Fashion Show Review of the new women’s collection

Giorgio Armani Spring / Summer 2011-12

The looks from the Giorgio Armani Spring 2012 collection were divided between the concept of the professional, yet impeccably dressed woman and the Grecian-like siren chiseled in marble. The first half of the show saw women in long sleeved silk and satin blouses (sometimes printed, other times in one solid colour). The blouses were paired with precisely cut, slim trousers. Every look had a shiny translucence to it with the fabric sparkling under the runway lights as if it were the sea hit by moonlight. Shimmering satin blazers in silver, black and navy were designed without lapels and buttons to give the piece an utterly feminine appeal. KEEP READING
